On February 09 and 10, 2024, the 4th edition of the MUN ISIT took place! The event brought together 44 delegates for multilingual debates and inspiring lectures, marking an essential milestone in the international academic journey.
The 4th edition of the ISIT MUN: a success for ISIT students
The fourth edition of the Model United Nations (MUN) ISIT took place successfully on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 February 2024, organized by the ISIT Carrières Internationales student association, chaired by Lauren Delfau. The event marked an important milestone in the academic and diplomatic careers of the students involved.
A committed organizing team
The event was orchestrated by an organizing team of six determined students from the M1 International Strategies and Diplomacy (Ysaure Lejeune, Romane Baillon, Juliette Hubert, and Michèle-Kenza Embiga Bessacque), M2 Conference Interpreting (Clémence Fiatte and Léo Dancette) and Carrière Internationales programs, chaired by Lauren Delfau. Their commitment and dedication were crucial to the overall success of the MUN ISIT.
Diversity of participants
A total of 44 delegates attended the event, from institutions such as ISIT, Dauphine, Sorbonne, ILERI, INALCO, University of London in Paris, Université de Paris Nanterre, Université de Paris 1, and even high school students. This edition marked a first, opening the doors of the MUN ISIT to high school students, broadening the influence and reach of the event.
Inspiring conferences
MUN ISIT was not limited to debates, but also included presentations in the form of lectures. Renowned experts shared their knowledge, including Mr. Olivier Douville, a psychoanalyst specializing in children in war environments, and Dr. Marc Lavergne, a specialist in economic and social development issues, as well as crises and conflicts in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa.
Constructive debates on crucial issues
Two debating panels were organized, tackling crucial issues. The UNICEF panel addressed “Restoring Innocence: Releasing and Reintegrating Child Soldiers into Society”, while the FAO panel looked at “Sustainable Strategies to Combat Food Insecurity in the Horn of Africa”. These debates were an opportunity for delegates to demonstrate their diplomatic skills and in-depth understanding of global issues.
Multilingualism and quality interpreting
Thanks to the collaboration between ESIT and ISIT, the debates and conferences were interpreted simultaneously into eight different languages: French, English, German, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. This linguistic diversity reinforced the inclusiveness of the event and enabled a more global participation.
The fourth edition of MUN ISIT was therefore a real success, offering students a unique opportunity to explore and contribute to crucial discussions on the international scene. This enriching experience will continue to leave a significant mark on participants’ academic and professional careers.
