1-year pre-Master’s program: International Studies
For students who have completed two years of higher education (L1 and L2 at university; preparation for grandes écoles, etc.), ISIT offers a year of multilingual studies that paves the way for the various Master’s specializations at ISIT.
Présentation
Designed for students who have completed two years of higher education (L1-L2 at university, preparatory classes, etc.), this multilingual study year at ISIT is a gateway to all our Master’s specializations.
Students entering this program already have advanced knowledge of French and English (B2), and sound knowledge of a third language among those taught at ISIT: Arabic, Chinese, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian or Spanish.
Courses are taught in French and English.
The second semester is undertaken entirely abroad, at a partner university, giving students the international immersion that is essential for their future career.
Two final years of Master’s courses to prepare for the professional environment
ISIT’s Grande Ecole program offers two final years which prepare students for their final working environment. They can choose from seven Master’s specializations, each driven by the strong multilingual and intercultural dimension that is ISIT’s DNA.
As a result, ISIT graduates have a sound general culture, agility in an international environment, a solid understanding of intercultural issues, and the ability to grasp the complexity of globalized organizations and activities.
Education
To prepare for their entry into the Master’s program, and in addition to their core subjects, students follow a choice of specialized introductory programs:

- Communication and Translation
After this pre-Master’s year of international studies, students move directly into the two-year Master’s program that will prepare them for their future profession. There are seven Master’s courses to choose from, each driven by the strong international and intercultural dimension that is ISIT’s DNA. ISIT graduates are international profiles with a strong general culture, specializing in law, political science and communications, with a solid understanding of intercultural issues and the ability to grasp the complexity of globalized organizations and activities.

Prerequisites
Languages
Training is conducted in three languages: mandatory French and English + a third language
Our training is therefore open to candidates with operational language abilities in their mother tongue and two other working languages. The 3ᵉ working language can be chosen from Arabic, Chinese, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian or Spanish.
The minimum language level required excluding mother tongue, according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages:
- Level B2 for English
- Level B1 for the other working language
- Any other language can be validated by an examination at the end of the curriculum, with an additional endorsement on the graduation diploma
Pre-requisite for main language
- Pre-master’s: French only
- 4th year: French only – Exception for non-native speakers: DELF or Institut Français certification of B2 level French (the student will be considered able to follow courses and enrolled with French as his/her main language)
- 5th year: main language can be English, Arabic, Chinese and Spanish (applicable only to the Intercultural Communication and Translation master’s course)
WARNING: it is not possible to apply with a working language at beginner level.
However, it is possible to select a 4th language in discovery format, at beginner level. Languages on offer include: Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Japanese and sign language.
Level of diploma
- Admission to 3rd year: validated L2
- Admission to Master 1: validated L3
- Admission to Master 2: validated Master 1 or equivalent (officially recognized 4-year French or foreign diploma at 240 ECTS level) – Specific conditions for each Master specialization
Openings for double Master’s degrees
Openings for double Master’s degrees are presented within each Master program. International double degrees are available from international partner universities in China, Portugal, Italy or Lebanon, and supplementary training is available in France with the journalism school CFJ Paris.
Warning: students must first be enrolled at the partner establishment in order to access these double courses.
Applications
Applications can be made on the basis of the candidate’s academic record (for schools with a collaboration agreement) or through the Banque d’Epreuves Littéraires (BEL tests) with an interview in the 3rd language or through admissions tests after providing information and documents.
