The Master’s degree in Intercultural Communications and Translation prepares versatile, trilingual experts to manage multilingual translation and communication projects.
Graduation is based on two years of rigorous teaching, two internships (4 and 6 months), two consulting assignments with partner companies, and a thesis followed by an oral presentation.
CIT graduates have developed their linguistic, writing, IT and digital skills, and know how to combine discipline and curiosity, attention to detail and adaptability – which are all essential qualities for succeeding to manage complex projects.

Learning objectives

Two possible double degrees in Year 5
- METS- European Mobility in Specialized Translation program
Accessible only after a fourth year at ISIT, the METS program offers translation students a year to become professional, intercultural translation specialists through a unique program involving 12 European partners.

accessible to selected students who have completed their 4th year at ISIT, this double degree course leads to the award of a Master’s in Intercultural Communication and Translation (ISIT) and a Master’s in the Language Industry and Specialized Translation (ILTS).

Prerequisites
Languages
Our course is open to candidates with a solid level in their mother tongue and two other working languages: French and English are compulsory, and the third working language can be chosen from Arabic, Chinese, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
Students may also choose a 4th working language among the official languages of ISIT
Degree level
- Admission in 1st year of master’s degree : 3rd year of higher education (L3) successfully completed
- Admission in 2nd year of master’s degree : Master 1 or equivalent (4 years of higher education in France or abroad officially recognised as being worth 240 ECTS) successfully completed
IMPORTANT: For the Intercultural Communication and Translation specialization, the student’s Master 1 or equivalent qualification must be related to translation and multilingual communication.
