How to choose between my three passions, languages, cinema, and communication? Tracing her own path within ISIT, from banking to consulting, through internships, apprenticeship, and junior companies: here is Aude’s testimony, a young graduate from 2017 who has already acquired a lot of experience.

Before ISIT?

I did all my schooling at La Réunion, where I graduated from high school with a double diploma, French baccalaureate and Abibac (German high school diploma). From the start, I was passionate about languages, but didn’t have a precise educational path in mind. I started with two years of preparatory course in literature with a cinema minor, my other passion! I joined ISIT in my third year, via an agreement with my preparatory school.

Why ISIT?

  • At the end of my 3rd year, I undertook an internship in the field of press relations with Public Sénat. It only lasted for two months, but it made me discover a third passion, communication!
  • I thus chose to pursue the Intercultural Communication and Translation master’s, with the communication and web tools specialization. After an internship in the field of internal communication within Crédit Agricole, I decided on an apprenticeship for my second year of the Master’s degree, still in internal communication, but with the Société Générale. For a year, I was able to concretely put what I was learning at ISIT into practice, a foretaste of professional life as well as an opportunity to develop my network. It is also there that I discovered consulting through my manager, an external consultant.
  • I also joined Junior-ISIT at the end of my third year as head of communication, then as project manager. A junior company is a sort miniature-size consulting firm! I learned, not only to use concrete techniques and tools, but also to combine self-training, autonomy and teamwork. A foretaste of working in a consulting firm, as I do now.

After ISIT?

  • I joined Mazars -Amter & Go in January 2018, as a communication consultant and change manager. I knew of the company thanks to alumni and students, but I responded to a job description via LinkedIn. What did I find attractive? The diversity of missions, which was in line with ISIT where we worked on many different subjects and communication supports.
  • What do the ISIT education and working in counsulting have in common?
    • Our Flexibility combined with our discipline.
    • Our agility, in line with the multidisciplinary aspect of the curriculum
    • The practice of project management is very developed at ISIT and essential to working in consulting.

Any advice as a conclusion?

  • Do not limit yourself. Everyone follows their own path which they build for themselves. I found my internships and professional experiences by myself. ISIT offers an education, but we choose our own path, and we are the key players of our own life.
  • Do not hesitate to take part in the associations, even though it can seem time-consuming. It is a real asset that can be put forward during job interviews and that can make a difference.
