The Law and Multilingual Studies (lawyer-linguist) course prepares lawyers to work in a globalized working environment. In line with the standards of international higher education, it brings together students from all over the world, who come to learn about the challenges of interculturality as applied to the field of law.
As part of this dual curriculum in three languages (FR, ANG and a third language of choice), organized in partnership with the University of Paris-Panthéon-Assas, which awards the degree, ISIT provides multilingual legal training, while law studies are undertaken at the University of Paris-Panthéon-Assas.
A similar program in French and English, with an optional third language, is available in partnership with the Université de Paris-Saclay.
Objectives
- Training legal professionals capable of dealing with international issues in several languages and cultures
- Producing graduates capable of translating and writing in an intercultural legal environment
Practical skills acquired
- In-depth understanding of French, international and comparative law
- Multilingual Communication in the legal field
- Intercultural understanding of professional legal situations: legal proceedings involving foreign nationals, international contracts, international negotiations, etc.
Requirements and admission
Requirements
Our course is open to candidates with a solid level in their mother tongue and two other working languages: French and English are compulsory, and the third working language can be chosen from Arabic, Chinese, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

Double degree
This double-degree program is jointly organized with our partner law schools. The linguistic and intercultural elements of the course are taught at ISIT, while the legal modules take place at the partner universities.
ISIT has signed two partnership agreements with two centers of legal excellence:
- Faculté de Droit Jean Monnet – Université Paris Saclay. A pioneering partnership established back in 1978
- Paris-Panthéon-Assas Université, since the academic year 2016-17.

Continuing studies in a Master’s degree
After completing the licence degree in Law and Multilingual Studies at ISIT, students can continue their studies in a Master’s degree program at ISIT. This training provides a solid foundation for specializing in law, international relations, European affairs or legal and international careers, depending on the individual’s plans.
