METS

The Mobility in Europe for Translation Specialisation program (METS) is aimed at students who have earned a minimum of 240 ECTS credits, including at least 90 ECTS in Translation. It offers two semesters of training in specialized translation using specific professional tools. 

The aim is to enable students to hone their skills and expertise across Europe and to boost their international employability.

The METS consortium

This course provides high-level dual specialization. The innovative training provides rich and substantial content to give students the opportunity to complete their training in Europe in specialized areas of professional competence, enriching their academic qualification with a view to improving their prospects for international employment.

The members of the METS Consortium are all internationally recognized in the academic or business worlds for the excellence of their training and the competence of their graduates.

The METS consortium comprises 10 European schools and universities :

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Program selection

  1. The student must choose from the programs offered by the various partner universities.
  2. On completion of their METS year – 2 semesters in 2 different host universities – the student must have obtained 50 ECTS.
  3. The student’s home university will award 10 ECTS (see requirements set by home university on enrolment).
  4. Each partner offers one semester of teaching in one or more specializations. The student must obtain 25 ECTS per semester. Some programs may offer a choice of options.

Assessment

Students must obtain 60 ECTS in total: 25 ECTS from each of their host universities, and 10 from their home university.

 

Certification

At the end of their METS year, students will obtain a degree from their home university, and a certificate signed by the consortium.

Registration

FOR STUDENTS FROM ISIT’S PARTNER INSTITUTIONS :

Obtain an application form from your home institution or download one in Word format here.

  1. Submit your application to your home university by March 31, 2023.
  2. The list of admitted applicants and their respective semester combinations will be published in late April. Applicants will receive a confirmation letter specifying their destination for each semester.
  3. Admitted students must contact their home university to confirm their acceptance of the offer.
  4. Students must contact the METS coordinator at their home university, who will provide them with the information documents and the requirements they must meet to be awarded 10 ECTS from their home institution.
  5. Students will receive the following documents :
  • A description of the program
  • The list of courses they must complete to obtain the required 25 ECTS.
  1. Once the offer has been accepted, the student’s home institution will send them a letter of acceptance and details of their courses, as well as contact information to help them search for accommodation.
  2. On arrival at their host institution, students will receive :
  • Their study schedule for the semester
  • Information about assessment     

 

FOR STUDENTS NOT CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN A PARTNER INSTITUTION :

  1. Complete the application form and send it to one of the universities in the consortium.
  2. Applicants who meet the prerequisites will be invited to sit an entrance examination.
  3. Applicants who pass the entrance examination will be admitted in the 4th year at the institution to which they have applied. To obtain the METS certificate, students must complete a two-year Master’s program, spending the first year in their home institution (the institution to which they have applied) and the second in two other member institutions.
