Specialization International Strategies and Diplomacy

Maureen Bonnefoy was a student in the 2022 International Strategies and Diplomacy class who is now an International Development Training Project Manager. Maureen Bonnefoy has held this position at the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine (City of Architecture and Heritage).

Before ISIT?

Before joining ISIT and after obtaining a scientific baccalaureate (physics-chemistry option), I enrolled in the APES (Preparatory Year for Higher Education) at the Catholic Institute of Paris, then joined ISIT as a direct entrant for a master’s degree in International Strategies & Diplomacy.

What impact has your Master’s degree in International Strategies and Diplomacy from ISIT had on your professional and personal life?

The master’s degree gave me a comprehensive understanding of contemporary global issues and a good command of my two working languages (English and Spanish). The real advantage of the master’s degree (but of any ISIT program, I think) is the ability to adapt to different linguistic and cultural contexts.

Can you describe your career path since graduating?

I started my first job before graduating, and I received my permanent contract right after finishing my end-of-studies internship. I didn’t really have any trouble finding a job, thanks to the professional network I built up during my internships.

What have been your most notable professional achievements since graduating from ISIT?

Managing international projects independently, negotiating large contracts, and setting up meetings with high-ranking figures in the cultural sector to develop my departmental activities.

What advice would you give to current SID master’s students, in terms of both their academic and professional experience?

I would advise you to find an internship that suits your goals. It is these professional experiences that will allow you to really learn a trade/profession and learn the ropes. These experiences will also allow you to build a professional network.

And today?

Maureen Bonnefoy is Head of International Development Training Projects at the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine.
