CSR and OSR officer

A CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) or OSR (Organizational Social Responsibility) officer is a key player in changing organizations to increase sustainability, ethics and social and environmental performance. His or her role is both strategic and operational, focusing on the implementation of social responsibility policies within the company or organization.

What does a CSR/OSR project manager do?

  • Definition and implementation of the CSR/OSR strategy: he/she formulates, steers and monitors the CSR policy, ensuring that it is included in the organization’s overall strategy and that it meets social, environmental and economic challenges.
  • Project coordination: he/she leads and coordinates projects aiming to reduce environmental footprint, improve social practices, strengthen ethical governance and promote responsible initiatives (waste reduction, circular economy, socially responsible investment, etc.).
  • Regulatory and standards watch: he/she monitors legal and documentary sources to adapt policies to new regulations and sectoral standards.
  • Awareness-raising and training: he/she raises awareness and trains teams in sustainable development issues and responsible practices and coordinates the internal network of CSR ambassadors.
  • Reporting and communication: he/she sets up performance indicators, monitors progress of actions, produces regular reports and promotes initiatives to stakeholders (management, employees, partners, customers, suppliers).
  • Stakeholder mobilization: he/she works cross-functionally with all departments and consults with the various stakeholders to ensure the coherence and effectiveness of the actions implemented.
